TRIAL COUNSEL


Professor Aref has been preparing and conducting trials for years. He has many trials through verdict,innumerable evidentiary hearings. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor for Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, teaching the next generation of trial attorneys about best practices and trial strategy.

EDUCATION

Kareem Aref has an undergraduate degree from the University of California Riverside in Psychology, Law, and Society which helps him understand how people think and determine the best-case presentation strategy. During his undergraduate career, Mr. Aref was President of the University of California Student Association. He represented hundreds of thousands of people statewide and fought for criminal justice reform at all levels.


Mr. Aref earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California Davis Martin Luther King Jr. School of Law with distinctions as Order of the Barrister, Top Gun National Bar Association (an honor granted to 16 individual advocates nationwide each year), and for his efforts in public service and pro bono work.​


Kareem served as the Chairman of the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division, representing all law students nationwide.


Since law school, Mr. Aref’s excellence in oral and trial advocacy has led to invitations to coach the University of California Davis Law School’s Mock Trial Teams through various competitions. He is one of the most decorated trial advocates to graduate from UC Davis’ King Hall.


Mr. Aref graduated from the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Prosecutor’s Academy with distinctions for best closing argument. To further enhance his skills, he has completed numerous training programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, the California District Attorneys Association, and various police departments.
